Ingredients (for 1 medium jar)

2–3 small cucumbers (or 1 large, sliced)

½ cup white vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)

½ cup water

1 tbsp sugar

1½ tsp salt

1 garlic clove, sliced (optional)

½ tsp black peppercorns

½ tsp mustard seeds (optional)

Fresh dill (optional)

A pinch of chili flakes (optional for spice)
Instructions

Prepare the cucumbers

Wash and slice (rounds, spears, or halves).

Pack tightly into a clean glass jar with garlic, dill, and spices.

Make the brine

In a small pot, combine vinegar, water, sugar, and salt.

Bring just to a simmer — stir until sugar and salt dissolve.
