🌿 Herb Pasta Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 200g (7 oz) pasta (spaghetti, penne, fettuccine, or your choice)

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)

  • 1/2 cup fresh basil (chopped)

  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley (chopped)

  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme (or rosemary, or a combination)

  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional, for topping)

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Zest of 1 lemon (optional, for added freshness)

  • Red pepper flakes (optional, for some heat)


Instructions:

1. Cook the Pasta:

  • Boil a large pot of salted water and cook the pasta according to the package instructions, until al dente.

  • Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta cooking water before draining the pasta.

2. Prepare the Herb Sauce:

  • While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

  • Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, or until fragrant (but not browned).

  • Add the chopped basil, parsley, and thyme (or any other herbs you're using). Cook for another 1–2 minutes until the herbs become fragrant.

3. Combine Pasta and Herb Sauce:

  • Add the cooked pasta directly into the skillet with the herbs and garlic.

  • Toss the pasta gently, adding a little of the reserved pasta cooking water (a tablespoon at a time) to help the sauce coat the pasta evenly.

  • Season with salt, pepper, and lemon zest for brightness.

4. Finish the Dish:

  • Remove from heat and toss in Parmesan cheese if using, allowing it to melt into the pasta.

  • Sprinkle a few red pepper flakes for some heat (optional).

5. Serve:

  • Serve the pasta warm, garnished with extra fresh herbs or cheese if desired.
