Roasted fish recipe
Here’s a simple and delicious recipe for roasted fish:
Ingredients:
-
2 whole fish (like snapper, trout, or bass) or 4 fillets (depending on your preference)
-
2 tablespoons olive oil
-
1 lemon (zested and sliced)
-
3-4 garlic cloves (minced)
-
2 teaspoons fresh thyme or rosemary (or 1 teaspoon dried)
-
Salt and pepper, to taste
-
Fresh parsley (for garnish, optional)
Instructions:
-
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
-
Prepare the fish:
-
If using whole fish, clean and gut the fish (if not already done). Pat the fish dry with paper towels.
-
For fillets, ensure the skin is removed if desired, or leave it on for added flavor and texture.
-
-
Season the fish:
-
Rub both sides of the fish (or fillets) with olive oil.
-
Season generously with salt and pepper.
-
Sprinkle the minced garlic, fresh thyme (or rosemary), and lemon zest over the fish.
-
Stuff a few lemon slices inside the cavity of the whole fish or place them on top of the fillets.
-
-
Roast the fish:
-
For whole fish: Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or foil. Roast in the oven for 20-25 minutes, depending on the size of the fish. The fish is done when the flesh is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.
-
For fillets: Place them skin-side down on the baking sheet. Roast for 12-15 minutes, until the fish flakes easily.
-
-
Garnish and serve:
-
Once cooked, remove the fish from the oven and garnish with fresh parsley and more lemon slices if desired.
-
This recipe pairs well with roasted vegetables, a fresh salad, or even some quinoa for a light and healthy meal!
