“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort.” — 2 Corinthians 1:3 ✨
What a beautiful truth: God is not indifferent to your suffering. He is the God of all comfort.
The Bible continues:
“Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.”
— 2 Corinthians 1:4 (KJV)
❤️ What does this mean for you?
When you are hurting: You can bring your pain to God without pretending to be okay.
When you feel alone: You can turn to the Father who sees you, knows you, and invites you to draw near.
When you are exhausted: You don't have to earn God's compassion by being strong.
When you cannot understand your suffering: You can still seek His presence in the middle of it.
When you have been comforted: Your own experience of God's mercy can one day help you comfort someone else.
Jesus Himself wept at the tomb of Lazarus (John 11:35). The Son of God did not stand at the edge of human sorrow untouched by it.
And remember His invitation:
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
— Matthew 11:28 (KJV)
God's comfort does not always mean that the pain disappears immediately. Sometimes it means that, in the midst of the pain, you are invited to rest in His love and bring Him exactly what is in your heart.
🙏 Father of mercies, God of all comfort, draw near to every wounded heart. Give rest to the weary, hope to the discouraged, and strength to those who feel they cannot go on. May the peace of Christ guard our hearts and minds. Amen.
You can come to God as you are. You do not have to hide your tears from Him. ❤️
