Did God forsake me?

I don't believe that your suffering means God has forsaken you. ❤️

I can't tell you exactly why you're going through what you're experiencing, but I can point you toward something deeply important in the Christian faith: feeling abandoned by God is not the same as being abandoned by God.

Remember Jesus on the cross:

“My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?”

— Matthew 27:46 (KJV)

Jesus Himself expressed the anguish of feeling forsaken. His cry wasn't hidden from Scripture. It was preserved for us.

And consider Psalm 22, which begins with those very words. It moves from anguish toward trust and praise. The Bible makes room for the believer who cries out, who struggles, who cannot understand what God is doing.

You don't have to pretend you're okay with God when you're hurting. You can bring Him your confusion, your anger, your exhaustion, and your questions. Lament is part of the life of faith.

Jesus promised:

“I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.”

— Hebrews 13:5 (KJV)

I won't pretend this verse explains every painful thing you've experienced. But it does express the Christian hope that God's faithfulness isn't dependent on how clearly, we can feel His presence.
