How to do karaoke
Karaoke is basically singing along to an instrumental version of a song while the lyrics appear on screen. You can do it very easily at home.

Use a microphone if you have one.
- A USB microphone, Bluetooth karaoke microphone, or even a headset mic works.
- You can also simply sing without one.
-
Play the instrumental track.
- The lyrics will usually appear on screen.
- Follow the highlighted words and sing along.
-
Keep the music louder than your voice at first.
- This makes it easier to stay on pitch.
- Gradually lower the instrumental volume if you want to challenge yourself.
-
Don't worry about sounding perfect.
Karaoke is partly about timing, confidence, pronunciation, and expression, not just vocal technique.
🎶 A good beginner technique
Try this progression:
Listen → hum → sing quietly → sing normally → sing without looking at the lyrics.
And if a song has a difficult high note, don't force it. Sing the note in a comfortable octave or simplify it.
🏠 If you want to make it more fun
You can create a little home karaoke setup with:
- Laptop/TV for lyrics
- YouTube karaoke tracks
- Bluetooth speaker
- Microphone
- A playlist of 10–20 songs
