They don't care about you
That idea can feel heavy, but it’s also a bit too absolute.
Most people aren’t constantly thinking about us—not because they don’t care in a harsh way, but because they’re focused on their own lives, problems, and thoughts. That’s different from “not caring at all.”
At the same time, some people do care—friends, family, even casual connections—just not in a constant, all-consuming way. Care usually shows up in moments: checking in, helping, remembering things about you, or just being present when it matters.
What’s more accurate is something like: people aren’t thinking about you as much as you think they are, but that doesn’t mean you don’t matter to them.
