🍝 Linguine with Ham & Cream

Here’s a simple, creamy linguine with ham & cream—comforting, fast, and very “restaurant-at-home” style.

If you’d like, I’ll also give you a vegetarian/vegan version after this, so it fits your usual preferences.

🍝 Linguine with Ham & Cream

🧂 Ingredients (2 servings)

  • 200 g linguine
  • 1 tbsp butter or olive oil
  • 1 small onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 120–150 g ham (cut into strips or cubes)
  • 200 ml cooking cream (or heavy cream)
  • 2–3 tbsp grated parmesan (optional but nice)
  • Salt & black pepper
  • A pinch of nutmeg (optional, but makes it cozy)
  • A splash of pasta water

👩‍🍳 Steps

  1. Cook the pasta
Boil linguine in salted water until al dente. Save a small cup of pasta water before draining.
  2. Build the base
In a pan, heat butter or olive oil. Sauté onion until soft, then add garlic for 30 seconds.
  3. Add ham
Toss in the ham and let it lightly brown—this boosts the flavor.
  4. Make it creamy
Pour in the cream and stir gently. Let it simmer for 2–3 minutes.
  5. Combine
Add cooked linguine into the sauce. Mix well, adding a splash of pasta water to loosen and make it silky.
  6. Finish
Season with salt, pepper, and a pinch of nutmeg. Add parmesan if using.

✨ Result

Creamy, slightly salty, silky pasta with a soft savory depth from the ham. It’s the kind of dish that tastes like it took more effort than it did.
