🍺 Beer Cake (Easy Vanilla Style)

 Here’s a simple beer cake recipe—it comes out moist, slightly malty, and not “boozy” in taste once baked (the alcohol mostly cooks off).

🍺 Beer Cake (Easy Vanilla Style)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon (optional, but nice)
  • 1/2 cup butter (melted)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup beer (lager or light beer works best)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Optional topping

  • Powdered sugar
  • Or a simple glaze (powdered sugar + milk)

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a cake pan.
  2. In a bowl, mix:
    flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. In another bowl, whisk:
    melted butter, eggs, vanilla, and beer.
  4. Pour wet mixture into dry ingredients and mix until just combined (don’t overmix).
  5. Pour into the pan.
  6. Bake for 35–45 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Let it cool, then dust with powdered sugar or drizzle glaze.

🍯 What it tastes like

  • Soft and moist like a pound cake
  • Slight caramel/malty depth from the beer
  • Not bitter or “alcoholic” after baking

🔁 If you don’t want alcohol

You can replace beer with:

  • Ginger ale (sweeter, lighter flavor)
  • Apple juice (fruitier cake)
  • Non-alcoholic beer (closest taste)
