🍺 Beer Cake (Easy Vanilla Style)
Here’s a simple beer cake recipe—it comes out moist, slightly malty, and not “boozy” in taste once baked (the alcohol mostly cooks off).
🍺 Beer Cake (Easy Vanilla Style)
Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cinnamon (optional, but nice)
- 1/2 cup butter (melted)
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup beer (lager or light beer works best)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Optional topping
- Powdered sugar
- Or a simple glaze (powdered sugar + milk)
👩🍳 Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a cake pan.
-
In a bowl, mix:
flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. -
In another bowl, whisk:
melted butter, eggs, vanilla, and beer. - Pour wet mixture into dry ingredients and mix until just combined (don’t overmix).
- Pour into the pan.
- Bake for 35–45 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let it cool, then dust with powdered sugar or drizzle glaze.
🍯 What it tastes like
- Soft and moist like a pound cake
- Slight caramel/malty depth from the beer
- Not bitter or “alcoholic” after baking
🔁 If you don’t want alcohol
You can replace beer with:
- Ginger ale (sweeter, lighter flavor)
- Apple juice (fruitier cake)
- Non-alcoholic beer (closest taste)
