One-pan version

 Here’s a one-pan Beef with Mushrooms and Rice recipe—super easy, minimal cleanup, and ready in about 25 minutes.


🥘 One-Pan Beef with Mushrooms and Rice

Ingredients (serves 2–3)

  • 300 g (10 oz) beef, thinly sliced

  • 150 g (5 oz) mushrooms, sliced

  • 1 small onion, chopped

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 cup uncooked rice (white or jasmine)

  • 2 cups beef or vegetable broth

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tsp cornstarch

  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

  • Salt & pepper to taste

  • Optional: green onions or parsley for garnish


Instructions

  1. Prep beef:

    • Toss sliced beef with 1 tsp soy sauce, cornstarch, and a pinch of pepper.

  2. Cook beef:

    • Heat 1 tbsp oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.

    • Stir-fry beef 2–3 minutes until lightly browned. Remove and set aside.

  3. Cook veggies & rice:

    • In the same pan, add 1 tbsp oil.

    • Sauté onions 1–2 minutes, then garlic and mushrooms 3 minutes.

    • Add uncooked rice, stir for 1 minute to coat with oil.

  4. Add liquid & cook:

    • Pour in 2 cups broth and 1 tbsp soy sauce.

    • Bring to a boil, then reduce heat, cover, and simmer 15 minutes until rice is tender.

  5. Combine & finish:

    • Return beef to the pan, stir, and cook 2–3 minutes until beef is heated through.

    • Adjust salt & pepper.

  6. Serve:

    • Garnish with parsley or green onions.

    • Serve hot as a complete meal.


Tips:

  • Use thinly sliced beef so it cooks quickly with the rice.

  • Stir once midway to prevent sticking, but don’t over-stir.

  • Optional: add a splash of sesame oil at the end for extra flavor.
