What is @mention?

 An @mention is when you type the @ symbol followed by a username or name in a digital platform (like social media, forums, chat apps, or project management tools) to tag or notify that person.

For example:

• On Twitter/X, writing @username links to that account and notifies them.

• On Instagram, @friend tags your friend in a post or comment.

• On Slack, Teams, or Discord, @John pings John so he sees the message.

• In Google Docs, @mention can assign tasks or link people/resources.
