Onion Dip

Creamy Onion Dip

Ingredients:

  • 1 large onion, finely chopped

  • 2 tbsp olive oil or butter

  • 1 cup sour cream

  • ½ cup mayonnaise

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp onion powder (optional for extra onion flavor)

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Fresh chives or parsley (optional, for garnish)


Instructions:

  1. Cook onions:
    Heat olive oil or butter in a pan over medium heat. Add chopped onions and cook slowly, stirring occasionally, until they are golden brown and caramelized (about 15-20 minutes). Let them cool.

  2. Mix dip:
    In a bowl, combine sour cream, mayonnaise, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.

  3. Add onions:
    Stir the cooled caramelized onions into the sour cream mixture.

  4. Chill:
    Refrigerate the dip for at least 30 minutes to let flavors blend.

  5. Serve:
    Garnish with chopped chives or parsley if you like. Serve with chips, crackers, or veggie sticks.
