kintsugi
Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with a special resin mixed with powdered gold, silver, or platinum. The word "kintsugi" literally means "golden joinery" or "golden repair." Rather than trying to hide the cracks, kintsugi highlights them, transforming the broken item into something beautiful and unique. It’s seen as a symbol of embracing imperfection and finding beauty in the flaws and history of objects.
In a broader, philosophical sense, kintsugi can also be a metaphor for personal growth—acknowledging and embracing past hardships or imperfections rather than trying to conceal them. It's a powerful concept in both art and life!
